Harrington Hill Primary School 

 

Harrington Hill Primary School have provided an outdoor learning provision for the children attending the school, using the Forest School approach.

Vickey Hebden, a nursery teacher at Harrington Hill has been the Forest School Lead for the school since 2015 and has also disseminated her training to the rest of the foundation staff through a series of staff meetings.

They have been providing on-site sessions for nursery in the Eco garden since Autumn 2015 and are currently running every Friday all day. The Eco garden is used as a warm up and setting boundaries for the nursery class. This is supporting the children to become familiar with the Forest School routine including health and safety aspects based on the Forest School rules. Reception class have been accessing Forest School sessions, two mornings a week in the Robin Hood gardens in Springfield Park since Spring 2016.
